Distance Learning Associateship in TESOL (teaching practice)

Distance Learning Associateship in TESOL (teaching practice)

Our Associateship in TESOL stands as an excellent qualification in its own right and is a fully distance learning course which does not require any face-to-face teaching practice.

However, if you would like to have some classroom teaching practice before you go out into the world, you can apply for our hybrid course: the Associateship in TESOL (teaching practice). This course lets you study the theory of teaching via distance learning (using exactly the same syllabus as our Associateship in TESOL) and then complete 8 hours of teaching practice at our Bloomsbury centre.

In this way you get the best of both worlds. You can study at home in your own way, at your own pace, and then put everything you've learned into practice at our excellent Bloomsbury teaching centre.

Please note, face-to-face lessons generally run for one hour at a time and most students prefer to teach only one or two lessons a day. Therefore you may wish to spread your teaching practice over a few days.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for anybody starting out on an English language teaching career, who wants the flexibility of studying from home. You may be looking for something to do in a gap year between school and university; you may be a recent graduate; or perhaps you've been working for years and are simply looking for something more fun and fulfilling. Whatever stage you're at in life, this course will give you the skills you need to teach English, either as a long-term career or for a shorter period to help you travel the world.

What is the qualification?

Both qualifications are ideal for people starting out on an English teaching career and will give you the skills you need to teach English, either as a long-term career or for a shorter period to help you travel the world. On successful completion of either course, you will receive a certificate from The College of Teachers which is internationally recognised by teaching organisations.
