About us

TEFL Lab is a dedicated teacher training centre. We specialise in training people to become teachers of English as a foreign language. Our aim is to train teachers right at the start of their career so that they can provide the high standards of English teaching that is on demand throughout the world. With this in mind we've set ourselves three simple goals:

  • To encourage intelligent, talented people from a diverse range of backgrounds to choose English teaching as a career
  • To give them the best training possible using excellent course materials and inspirational teaching methods
  • To send them out in the world confident and fully equipped to teach English anywhere on the planet.

What is TEFL Lab?

TEFL Lab is a dedicated teacher training centre. We specialise in training people to become teachers of English as a foreign language. We call ourselves a lab because our courses are highly practical and rigorously tested to give you the skills you need to teach in the outside world.

Who we are

All our staff are qualified and highly experienced Teacher Trainers. Your main contact during your time with us will be the Head of Teacher Training. Observation of Teaching Practice sessions is done by our excellent course tutors.

Our teaching facility

TEFL Lab is located in a beautiful five-storey Georgian townhouse on London's famous Bloomsbury Square, a stone's throw from the British Museum. Overlooking the square to the front and the Duke of Bedford's private gardens to the rear, the building has been sympathetically modernised to retain its character while offering the very latest in teaching facilities. We don't think you'll find a nicer place to study!

Why teach English?

Special needs

TEFL Lab London is committed to making its courses accessible to those with special needs, and every effort will be made to help course members who require additional help. Any specific needs will be ascertained at the interview stage and discussed with the applicant.
